This month’s The View was recommended by two of their neighbors. When our reporters visited this home and saw how beautiful the yard was, it was a must for September. Christy and Mike Schwartz moved to Deercreek in December 2021, desiring the location and the security provided by our gated community and loving all the trees and sidewalks in it.
Christy is a retired hair stylist and salon owner with many years serving the Fleming Island community. Mike’s a Vice President insurance broker at IOA celebrating 20 years with the company. They enjoy living on the 12th fairway, watching their neighbors and friends play golf.
Christy and Mike love the size of their back patio area and backyard, with space for get-togethers. Also, they are parents to a 2 ½ year old Goldendoodle, Archie, who loves to run wild in the yard. He also likes to be petted by all the friendly neighbors and play with their four-legged family members.
Christy Schwartz takes great pride in their yard and spends much time in it. Everything is trimmed to perfection, with accent areas that showcase the yard. While they started with a mature landscape, they’ve made several improvements – a brick paver driveway and flower-bed liner, a fountain in the front yard and a landscaping feature in the backyard along fence.
Christy does all the work, other than edging the lawn, done by YPG Lawn Care. Their home is surrounded by many types of plants, including beautiful crepe myrtles and ligustrums. Other plants are: Aztec Grass, Shillings, Blue Daze, Vinca, Bougainvillea, Jasmine, Loropetalum and African Iris.
