Our Deercreek View home for June is on the corner of Chester Lake Road E and Amherst Hills Lane. The homeowner, Randa Saman, moved to Deercreek in 2003 because of its excellent reputation. What she loves most about Deercreek is the security, the people who are so friendly and most of all, the location.
Having lived in Deercreek for over 20 years, this is the second time she has received the Deercreek landscape award (first time was in 2010). During this time, Randa has created many features in the yard that add to its charm; many flower beds full of texture, color and detailed with concrete pavers & stones. She even paints the stones!
Visitors are welcomed at the front door with two large topiary trimmed plants as well as planters at the threshold. The landscaping has a large variety of plants, including crotons, emeralds, cordylines (ti plants), and salvias, azaleas, crepe myrtles, loropetalum, boxwood, hollies, and podocarpus macrophyllus bushes. Being on a corner lot, she takes full advantage of carrying details and color throughout, showcasing all the views of her home.
Randa is single and lives by herself. She loves to travel, enjoys reading, and doing yard work. She has a gardener but does work in the yard whenever she has free time. Randa says she especially likes her neighbors, most of whom have been in Deercreek as long as she has.
In closing, Randa says, “I earned yard of the month years ago and to win the award again is the best accomplishment and feeling. I just want to say, ‘Thank you’ for selecting my yard.”
