Lucy & Marcel Babik
10065 Deercreek Club Rd E
You may have noticed a recent home and landscape reno on Deercreek Club Road East. The home, with a brick and stucco exterior, sports bright white accents, making it stand out among the neighboring homes, and with an immaculate new landscape. The home was purchased by Marcel and Lucy Babik in 2025. They were looking for a community with a combination of natural beauty, active lifestyle and peaceful ambience. They enjoy Deercreek because it has great walkability. That walkability is especially important since they have three proud Westies (Luigi, Lily, and Kiri) who love the community and lead their parents on walks around the neighborhood.
The Babiks chose their home because it offered four amenities: a pool, pond, golf course view, and a tranquil preserve view. One of the things they love most about their home is the combination of the traditional brick exterior with stucco features, which provide a warm, timeless look. Their backyard is a favorite part of the property, with the peaceful pool setting, and the beautiful preserve and golf course surroundings.
Landscaping has become a hobby for the couple. They added a Canary Island Date Palm, along with Black Diamond and Miss Frances crape myrtles to provide some beautiful structure and color. They replaced the older shrubs around the pool with podocarpus to create a natural privacy screen, while keeping the area open to the surrounding landscape. They’ve also added beds using ornamental grasses and loropetalums to give the yard a softer, layered look. They prefer low-maintenance plants like grasses which provide graceful movement without a lot of care. Their focus is on creating a natural extension of the preserves around them, while making their backyard a beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy every day.
It’s obvious that the Babiks have made a lot of improvements since they moved into the community. In addition to the landscaping, they repainted the home exterior, as previously mentioned, and replaced the windows with vinyl-framed energy-efficient windows for an updated modern, yet traditional, look. They’ve also refreshed the interior of their home with ongoing updates.
As busy as they are with home projects, they are also involved in the Deercreek community, with Lucy active in the Home and Garden Club and Marcel serving as Chair of the Common Property Team. And they both enjoy watching sports (particularly ice hockey and soccer), playing pickleball, biking and walking their Westies. They also enjoy traveling and exploring new places – experiencing different cultures, enjoying local art and history, and seeing how people live in different parts of the world.
Congratulations, Lucy and Marcel!
