The Fuentes are fairly new Deercreek residents—moving here in June 2024 from south Florida (Pembroke Pines). No strangers to moving, they have lived in six countries (Spain, England, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brazil and Indonesia) as part of Jose’s career with an oil company.
When looking for their home in Jacksonville, they wanted an established, urban neighborhood, and found Deercreek, with its large trees and natural areas, to be just what they were looking for. Their home, with a backyard overlooking the golf course and a small pond, provides an idyllic setting for them.
Upon moving in, the Fuentes updated the exterior of their home by replacing the front door and adding gutters to the roofing. They also undertook the task of updating their landscape, adding to the existing crape myrtles and overhanging oak. They hired a landscaper to lay out the plan and install the new landscape in phases. Starting in May, the first phase added plants and bushes to the front yard, including small palms, azaleas, ferns, firecracker plants, lemon-lime, cordyline, gardenias, hydrangeas and others.
