Heads Up, Deercreek Drivers

Jul 24, 2025

Deercreek is full of beautiful features—peaceful nature areas, spacious lots, and roaming wildlife—that make our neighborhood truly special. But those same features can mean longer travel times to and from the back of the community, and with that comes a need for added attention on the roads.

Recently, we’ve had a few incidents involving damage to landscaping and mailboxes. We want to note that in one recent accident, the driver was traveling under the 30 MPH speed limit and still had to swerve to avoid a deer. That’s a strong reminder of how quickly deer can appear, especially during low-light conditions around dawn and dusk.

Stick to the Speed Limit
The speed limit throughout Deercreek is 30 MPH. Please stay alert—especially in nature-heavy areas and residential streets where deer may suddenly appear, particularly at dawn and dusk. Driving at a safe speed helps protect our wildlife, our neighbors, and our community.

Respect Community Property
If damage occurs due to a driving accident, the driver is financially responsible for replacing or repairing the affected items. That includes our mailboxes, which are privately purchased and professionally installed—not supplied by the U.S. Postal Service. Please drive with care to preserve the appearance and function of our neighborhood.

Thank you for driving safely and respectfully, it’s what keeps Deercreek safe and a welcoming place for everyone!
