From the Access Control Committee

Feb 1, 2026

February finds things back on usual schedules after the holidays, but the need for diligence regarding security and safety never slow down or stop.

Safety reminders – Please wear light clothing and no head phones or earbuds if you are determined to walk or run on the community roads with your back to the traffic. Fortunately, most of the residents are safety conscious and walk/run facing the traffic. The roads of Deercreek are not wide enough to allow for biking or running lanes in the roadway.

Security reminders – Make sure all vehicles and your residence are locked with no valuables visible in vehicles. Be aware of your environment at all times, especially when parked in major parking areas. If you see something unusual or concerning anytime in Deercreek call the guard gate or JSO immediately.

The Traffic Logix sign continues to provide base data such as vehicle speeds, date and time of the speeds. It will ultimately provide license plate numbers and vehicle photos of speeders for citations. The sign is portable and can be moved to other locations in Deercreek.

When placing guests in resident lists for access to Deercreek, there is the option to add an end date, such as for vendors. Not adding an end date makes the opportunity to enter endless which could be desirable for friends and family, but probably not for vendors and others.

Some notes from the Annual Meeting report from the Access Control Committee. In 2025, some 803,000 vehicles entered the gates of Deercreek. That was up several thousand from 2024, but the club had a great year of many tournaments for golf and tennis. Construction of various types with the associated traffic was also very active in 2024. Some 250 speeding citations were issued between RAMCO guards and JSO. Top speed for residents and non-residents alike was 47 miles per hour.
