Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season is fast approaching. So is the need for even more diligence related to security. Be aware of your surroundings and be smart relative to where you park and, if at night, lighting of that area. No valuables in sight in vehicles and all vehicles and residences locked.
Take security precautions for the packages that may be delivered at your residence.
If your residence has a sidewalk, for the sake of safety for you and others who might use the sidewalk, please remove all tree debris such as leaves, acorns and seed pods. However, do not place the debris in the street where it can clog the storm water drains.
Here are some visitor/vendor tips to make visits more pleasant:
- For vendors, place the company name on the guest list. If driver is known, please add the driver’s name on a separate guest list entry with the company name as a check in the small box and a note. Make sure the driver’s name order is as the system requires, last name first.
- Remind all visitors and vendors that the Deercreek speed limit starts as soon as they turn onto Deercreek Club Road from Southside.
- For visitors, vendors or residents, please let the guard house know of any unusual events that could cause a citation to be written which will probably be appealed. These are such things the garbage was not collected in a given area, a car has broken down and is on the street overnight, a box truck has been rented and needs to stay in a driveway overnight, etc.
Following these suggestions will avoid frustration for the residents as well unnecessary citations.
Private golf cart owners not covered for liability insurance under the club golf cart requirement must have registered their golf carts by November 1 or risk receiving $100 citations for driving those golf carts on Deercreek roads. This requirement is to protect the Deercreek community as well as the golf cart owner in case of an accident involving property damage or bodily injury.
