From the Access Control Committee

Mar 1, 2026

Spring Break will occur in March, for some schools March 16 through 20 and then Monday, March 23 as well. Vandalism incidents can increase during this time so it is very important to be watchful and report anything unusual to the guards or JSO with identifying information quickly. The old axiom applies, “If you see something, say something.”

Vehicle and home security is especially important at all times including Spring Break. Vehicles are normally not broken into if they are unlocked. Make sure nothing of value is in sight in a vehicle, and the vehicle is locked at all times. Residences should also be locked at all times, and the guard house should be notified if residents are going to be away for an extended period.

Citations for trash of any kind is given on a daily basis, so be sure to not allow yard waste or trash cans to be improperly visible or stored. Also, please do not put trash of any kind in the roads. That creates a safety hazard for which the owner is responsible.

Thanks to all the safety mined folks who walk facing the traffic, wearing bright colored clothes and not wearing headphones or ear buds. Please consider using the sidewalks if at all possible.
