October is the cusp of the upcoming holiday season. There should be heightened focus and awareness on safety and security as the dates move forward. JSO patrols will also be increased.
- Big day in October: Halloween. Watch for large and small trick-or-treaters on the roads. NO UNLICENSED GOLF CART DRIVERS ALLOWED!!
- The insurance verification process for PRIVATE GOLF CARTS not already verified by the Club begins October 1. The cost to revalidate the insurance on an existing cart is a $5.00 check made out to DCCOA, and a verification for insurance must be provided. New or not previously registered carts’ cost is a $10.00 check made out to DCCOA and a verification of insurance. Cost to not register is a $100.00 citation. This insurance is required to protect the golf cart owner as well as the HOA in case of an accident. More communications will follow.
- Unauthorized visitors may be turned around at the gate. Courtesy calls may not always be made depending on the amount of traffic at the gate. Those calls take a minimum of 5-7 minutes, and if there are more than one or two cars waiting, the calls will not be made.
- Thanks to all who are walking/running on sidewalks and those on the roads facing the traffic and wearing light colored clothes. That is much, much safer.
