Here are some thoughts for Deercreek Residents for 2026 New Year’s resolutions:
- Be security minded 24/7/365
- Keep all vehicles locked with nothing visible.
- Keep residences locked at all times.
- If leaving for an extended time, make sure to complete the form at the guardhouse that lets them know to make external observations of your home.
- If away from home and parked, be aware of your surroundings, including lighting, at all times.
- If something doesn’t look right at home, report it immediately to the guards or JSO.
- Be safety minded 24/7/365
- Do not walk or run on the roads of Deercreek. They are too narrow to safely support people walking/running and vehicles at the same time.
- If the sidewalks are the problem driving you to walk/run on the roads, report them to the property manager.
- If you are willing to RISK YOUR OWN SAFETY, at least walk/run facing the traffic wearing light colored clothing and NOT WEARING EARBUDS. EARBUDS are a huge safety danger.
- FOLLOW ALL VEHICLE OPERATION RULES AND LAWS WHEN DRIVING ON DEERCREEK ROADS.
- Parents: DO NOT BUY your children motorized vehicles of any kind including scooters or bicycles, unless they are licensed drivers. Those motorized vehicles are not only terribly unsafe, they are illegal in Florida when operated by an unlicensed driver and are not allowed by rules in Deercreek.
- Parents: You being with your unlicensed child while he or she is operating a motorized vehicle of any type, including golf carts, on the roads of Deercreek DOES NOT NEGATE the state laws and Deercreek rules, and you will be cited.
- Be rule minded 24/7/365
- Deercreek has specific rules regarding trash of all types. Know those rules, including the ones about trash and trash cans being visible from the street.
- Deercreek has specific rules regarding residential and landscaping projects. Know those rules and abide by them BEFORE starting projects.
- Deercreek has specific rules regarding the placement of PODS, construction trailers and debris, and portable toilets. Know all those rules BEFORE placing any external project objects at your residence.
- Deercreek has specific rules regarding entrance into Deercreek for visitors and vendors. KNOWING THOSE RULES can expedite access at the gate.
- KNOWING THE RULES can potentially save you time and citation money. FOLLOWING THE RULES helps maintain the beauty, safety and security of our beautiful community.
- ONE MORE THING:
Have you seen the new speed sign in the north natural area? Currently it is being used to collect vehicle speed, time of day, and day of week data, and is capable of capturing other data such as vehicle and license plate information. So far, the good news is about 95 percent of the vehicles recorded are at 35 miles per hour or less. The remnant are the ones we want to eventually identify.
The sign is portable and can potentially be placed at random locations.
