From the Access Control Committee

Nov 17, 2025

The Holidays are here, and here are some things to remember:

First, SAFETY and SECURITY. Both are mentioned almost monthly in the newsletter, but the emphasis on them can never stop as they are important 24/7/365.

  • All vehicles locked, no valuables, especially presents, visible to people looking in the vehicles.
  • Great attention to and awareness of parking areas, including lighting if after dark, and walking distance to vehicles.
  • In the Deercreek community, and if insisting on walking on the roads, walk facing the traffic, especially if using earbuds or earphones, and wear light colored clothing early in the morning and as darkness approaches.
  • Watch for children as school gets out for the holidays, and other days as well.
  • Watch also for incidents of vandalism or things that seem out of the normal situations. Immediately contact the guardhouse or JSO and report them.
  • If driving a golf cart after dark, make sure the lights are on and be watchful for deer in any vehicle.
  • Do not buy children gifts that are dangerous and possibly illegal such as motorized scooters and bicycles. They are illegal under Florida law if being operated by someone without a valid driver’s license, and therefore illegal on the roads in Deercreek. They are not allowed on the roads of Deercreek, plus they are extremely dangerous as they are hard to see.
  • Make arrangements for the security of any packages delivered at your residence and left outside.
  • Lock residences at all times.

Second GUESTS and HOLIDAY GATHERINGS. Follow these steps for more enjoyable gatherings:

  • Inform guests that speeding, running stop signs and other vehicle violations are cited in Deercreek, and the citation fines are the responsibility of the resident hosting the guests. The area observed for vehicle violations begins at the entrance to Deercreek off Southside and all the roads in the community.
  • There will be an increased presence of JSO officers in Deercreek during the holidays.
  • For the quickest entrance into Deercreek for guests and visitors, make sure their names are on the resident’s guest list at least 24 hours before the visit. This is especially important for large groups of guests for an event.
  • Inform guests their driver’s license will be checked at the gate after their visit on the resident guest list has been verified. If the name is not on the list and/or the guest driver does not have a valid driver’s license, he or she will not be admitted into Deercreek.
  • For the overall aesthetic look of Deercreek, make sure all trash cans and trash of any kind is not visible. We live in a beautiful community, but it is that way only if everyone takes personal responsibility to ensure it stays beautiful. The rules apply to all.
