From the Access Control Committee

Jul 1, 2025

July 4 is usually celebrated with fireworks. Fireworks are dangerous and illegal in Jacksonville if they fly or explode. More importantly perhaps is we have Deercreek residents who experience PTSD with loud noises, and some pets are very sensitive to loud noises as well. Bottom line, please be a courteous citizen of the community and remember others on July 4.

Deercreek rules require that trash containers be stored in such a way as to not be visible from the roads of the community except during designated pickup times. Violations of this requirement will result in a $50 citation under the new fee structure.

There are still residents who are not aware that barcodes are expiring this year as a result of the 2022 barcode audit to ensure accuracy of the gate system relative to vehicle, barcode and license plate. If your barcode suddenly stops working that could well be the problem. It takes about 5 minutes to verify the barcode itself is working and that barcode vehicle and license plate are correct in the gate system. The best time to stop is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but the check can actually be done at any time. No charge unless the barcode is defective and must be replaced.

Four repeated reminders:

  1. No unlicensed drivers operating motorized vehicles on Deercreek roads. It’s illegal and very dangerous. Possible $100 citation for doing so.
  2. Please walk or run on the roads wearing light colored clothing, facing the traffic, and not wearing ear buds. It’s your safety at risk.
  3. Make sure vehicles and residences are locked at all times, and nothing of value is in view in vehicles. Unlocked vehicles and homes are easy targets for burglars.
  4. If you see something unusual or troubling, contact the guards or JSO immediately. The guards are not trained to confront situations, but they are trained to observe and take other appropriate actions, such as calling JSO.
