From the Access Control Committee

Mar 17, 2025

  • Two vehicles in Deercreek were recently burgled due to being unlocked. Remember always lock vehicles and leave nothing of value visible inside the vehicle. Like most communities is not a secure community, but a restricted access community.
  • Several years ago, there was a BARCODE AUDIT in Deercreek, and barcodes audited and activated at that time were set to deactivate at different intervals in the future so that an accurate data base of matching barcodes/vehicles/license plates could be maintained. Some of those bar codes are now deactivating. Residents are asked to go by the guard house Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, if possible, and have their barcodes reactivated. It takes about five minutes and there is NO CHARGE if the barcode/vehicle/license plate still match or if only the license plate number needs to be updated in the system. If they do not match or if the barcode is defective, and they do fail for a variety of reasons, there will be a $15 charge to replace the old barcode.
  • Easter is approaching, with accompanying gatherings and activities. Please be sure to enter guests in the gate system at least 24 hours before they are to arrive. That can be done by phone even quicker with the gate APP. Visit the gate between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, and the gate captain will assist residents with installing the APP on their cell phones.
  • The IQ project should be finished or nearing completion. Issues regarding the project can be communicated to IQ directly at 904-832-5114 or by contacting Elyse Goode, project manager at 904-289-1000. The guards are not involved in the project in any way.
  • With the good weather more and more people are out enjoying that weather and getting exercise. Most are concerned about their safety and walk on sidewalks where available, and if they do have to use the roads, walk facing the traffic. Those walking/running at night generally wear light colored or reflective clothing and maybe have flashlights. These things are particularly important if using earbuds. The folks that don’t do these things are putting themselves and perhaps others at risk.
