Access Control – December 2023

Dec 1, 2023

The Holiday Season is full of opportunities for theft of various kinds, one of which is packages left at doorsteps of residences. In Deercreek, residents should take as much care for protecting their package purchases as any other purchase. DO NOT leave them on doorsteps unattended. Have a neighbor or someone pick them up for you. Also, be aware the delivery drivers are in a hurry more than usual this time of year and can make delivery mistakes. Your packages may be incorrectly delivered to another address or you may have packages for others delivered at your address.

Packages WILL NOT be delivered in Deercreek from 11:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

There will be an increased JSO presence in Deercreek during the holidays.

Please make sure your guest lists for gatherings are in the gate entry system at least 24 hours before the event. Guards will not make extra phone calls which slow down the gate by at least 5 minutes each.

Also, please remind your guests and vendors the speed limit is 30 miles per hour in Deercreek and is strictly enforced. Residents and vendors are issued more than 30 speeding tickets a month in the community. Top speed by a resident so far is 53 miles per hour. An accident looking for a place to happen, and we have repeat speeding offenders.

Last, another reason for not speeding: Deercreek was aptly named as we have a large contingent of deer in the community. They move around and can be a traffic hazard at any time because they are used to seeing people and vehicles in the community, but especially at night. Drive slowly, lights on bright if possible and scan both sides of the road repeatedly as deer can come from any direction without warning. So far this year at least three have been killed, and the vehicles hitting them probably have significant damage.

More traffic can be expected during the holidays, so please do not leave any waste from homes or houses in the roads.

As requested before, please do not buy motorized scooters or other motorized vehicles that can be used on the community roads by unlicensed riders/drivers.
