From the Access Control Committee

Sep 1, 2023

From the Access Control Committee:

School is now in session with buses and increased traffic. Please be cautious and also, be courteous.

September can be a gathering month starting with Labor Day parties and football game gatherings. For all gatherings, please be sure to get the names of guests into the computer system at least 24 hours in advance of the event.

When adding guests is a good time to review all the permanent guests and remove names of those who have moved or are otherwise not to be included as a permanent guest.

Residents are reminded that yard waste is their responsibility, and not the City of Jacksonville or the Homeowners Association. Violations of the DCCOA Rules and Regulations regarding yard waste will be cited.

Recently observed: three adults walking abreast on one of the main Deercreek roads with their backs to the traffic. First of all, this is unsafe in the highest degree, and second very discourteous to drivers who have adjust their driving to the walkers. Please always walk facing the traffic, and better still, use the sidewalks and be courteous to other walkers, especially those with pets. Last, if you are adamant about walking on the roads and with the traffic, do not use earbuds as you will not hear anything approaching you from behind.
