SUMMARY:Beaches Museum and History Park
DESCRIPTION:Beaches Museum and History Park Provides a Window into Beaches History \nOn March 23\, experience a bit of Jacksonville area history at the Beaches Museum. Located on Beach Boulevard\, the Beaches Museum provides an interesting and informative window into the history of the Jacksonville beaches\, then known as Pablo Beach. In addition to historical exhibits in the main building\, there is a history park with a 1903 post office and 1911 train locomotive. \nMeet at the Deercreek Pool parking lot at 9:30am to carpool to the museum. We will take a guided tour of the museum grounds in small groups led by the museum’s docents. After the tour\, we’ll head to Mavi Waterfront Bar and Grill for a delicious waterside lunch at the Beach Marina. \nWhile the museum is ‘free’\, it accepts donations from visitors. We’ve arranged for a $10.00/person donation for the museum\, plus a $20.00/person inclusive for lunch selections. Please write a check for $30.00 payable to the Home and Garden Club for this excursion. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and your mask while there. All Home & Garden Club members and first-time guests are invited to the tour and lunch. Please RSVP to deercreekhgc@gmail.com to confirm your attendance.
