Spotlight on Charity: The RITA Foundation

The RITA Foundation (Research Is The Answer) was started in 1996 to help raise funds for breast cancer research in the Jacksonville area. To date, the foundation has raised over $4 million dollars. From its humble beginnings by Chuck and Nancy Jantz it grew to several different events ranging from, tennis tournaments, black-tie gala, 5K run, and a golf tournament. SenioRITAs at Sawgrass was developed by a group of ladies under the RITA umbrella, catering to age appropriate tennis called SenioRITA (40-54) and (55 +). This year, SenioRITA matches will be held 16-17-18 October, at the Sawgrass Country Club. All proceeds from all of these events are donated to local hospitals and research programs only in the Jacksonville area. The RITA Foundation is an all-volunteer foundation (no salaries), with minimal overhead. This year, the Deercreek Women’s Alliance is supporting the RITA Championships and SenioRITAs with a Bronze level sponsorship as well as over twelve ladies playing in the weekend matches. Good Luck to all the Senioritas!
We are grateful for the privilege to donate to this wonderful organization.
