Upon arrival at the February Home and
Garden Club meeting, members and friends were
greeted with a pop quiz prepared by guest
speaker Bobi McGinnis, an interior redesign and
real estate staging professional and owner of
One Day Decorating of Florida. A list of
insightful questions, such as whether you had
the urge to remove certain colors of M&Ms from a
candy bowl if they did not match your décor, all
determined whether you were truly addicted to
decorating.
After this light-hearted beginning, Bobi
had many useful ideas on how to redecorate one’s
home with minimum expense by moving
furniture
and restaging the treasures you already have.
At least one person went home and
immediately rearranged furniture for an entirely
new and updated look.
In March, with warmer weather and yards
needing attention, Laurie Prescott, President of
Green Schemes, which features landscape design
and installation, outdoor lighting and water
gardens, will speak about low maintenance
landscaping on Thursday, the 25th, at
1 PM.
Please join other Garden Club members at
11:30 AM if you would like to have lunch with
Laurie before the meeting.
April’s big event will be the annual
Fashion Show and Spring Luncheon on Thursday,
the 22nd.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 AM.
Please make your reservations at
363-1604.
Members should all have their tickets by
now, but if you need additional Fashion Show
tickets or raffle tickets, please call Pam
Kinevan at 538-0494.
Charlotte Johnson continues to collect
items for the Silent Auction, so please call her
at 363-1453 with any contributions.
Remember, the Fashion Show is one of the
Garden Club’s major fundraisers, and monies
earned make a big difference in what the club
can do to beautify Deercreek!
If you are not a member of the Home and
Garden Club, but the programs sound interesting,
please join us for a meeting.
