It’s April and as I write this, I think about the Taylor family who just lost their home on Cypress Lakes Dr in a fire. Everything can change in an instant. We should do what we can to prevent and take steps we can to prepare, just in case.
In the category of prevention: make sure smoke detectors are functioning; dryer vents are clean; A/C filters are changed regularly; and repair any faulty outlets.
In the preparation category: review homeowners’ insurance; purchase fire extinguishers; and have a family plan for escape and where to meet if a fire does break out. Our meeting place has always been our next door neighbor’s front door. While our homes are important, our lives are irreplaceable.
Over the last 3 months, 8 homes sold & closed ranging from $365,000 to $675,000, according to the 3/1/18 NEFMLS. The average selling price was $480,875, up from $436,857. Average price per sq ft was $144.40, yet ranged from $122.16 to $159.80 per sq ft. Four homes are under contract: 9901 Windwater Ct; 10040 Ashford Crossing; 8204 Hampton Lake Ln; and 7717 Watermark Ln.
13 homes are currently for sale in Deercreek. They are priced from $324,900 to $899,900 (ranging in size from 1904 to 5741 sq ft). The List price averages $154.27 per square ft; yet, ranges from $126.44 to $205.38. These homes have been on the market on average 109 days, down from 143 days. Home prices are trending up, yet still require homes to be maintained well, and updated to receive the best price.
April is a time for jokes and pranks with April Fools’ Day. It is also a time for reflection and prayers at Easter and Passover. I think I’ll reflect on the many blessings I’ve enjoyed in the 24 years I’ve lived in Deercreek.
