Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) – North Florida Chapter Light the Night
When you or someone you love hears the words “you have cancer”… it’s one of the darkness moments in your life. By being a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night, you are helping generate light and warmth that delivers hope in time of despair, community in place of loneliness and life-saving research and support for cancer patients and their families.
Blood cancers do not discriminate; they effect families from all walks of life and frequently effect young children. Continued research into new therapies is critical; currently there is no way to prevent or early screen for most blood cancers. Fighting blood cancers is expensive; funding is needed to help pay for transportation and medication for those impacted. Funds raised by the Light the Night Campaign support research and those effected by blood cancers in North East Florida.
The mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The charity has 3 focuses; funding research to find a cure for blood cancers, providing Patient Services, and removing barriers to care through Public Policy and Advocacy.
The next event to support LLS is the 2018 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night. This will be held at TIAA Bank Field, Jacksonville, FL. Festivities begin at 5:00 PM. Light the Night Campaign is an amazing celebration of light to drive out the darkness of cancer. Register at http://www.lightthenight.org/events/jacksonville. Participants who donate/raise $100 or more qualify for a T-Shirt and dinner at the event. Those donating/raising $1000 or more qualify for access to the VIP tent.
