Thanks to a reduction in the number of
homes for sale, along with brisk sales
activity in December, the housing supply in
Deercreek has been reduced to three months,
with only nine homes on the market as of
1/16/2012. That’s a great start to the year.
Housing supply takes into account the total
sales over the past 12 months, and the
number of homes currently listed.
Sale prices fell throughout the year, so
while the year-long average sale price was
$388,918, the average sale price over the
past three months was $373,433.
Distressed properties, including short sales
and foreclosures, helped to bring home
prices down. The homes that are priced
competitively are selling.
The market seems to be stabilizing, and
many are looking to the coming year with
cautious optimism. Here’s to a happy,
healthy and prosperous 2012!
