Deercreek Choices of Activities are Amazing!
When we landed in Jax last week, the flight attendant said, “We know you have a choice of airlines and we appreciate your decision to fly with us.” The can also be said about all of the Clubs and Activities available in Deercreek. We have many choices to suit every personality and we hope you will choose a few that interest you and can make your Deercreek Living more fun. Our Deercreek Country Club is doing a fabulous job of providing dining options, children’s activities and special events throughout the year. They know us by name and make us feel like family. This is a great place to meet your neighbors and make new friends.
But there are also many opportunities outside the Club. If you like to make things happen in your community, there are positions on the Deercreek Homeowners Board and Committees that keep Deercreek running smoothly.
The Women’s Alliance is supporting ten different charities around Jacksonville and one of those might interest you. They work year round, not only providing financial support but giving their time and talents to serve others in need.
The Home and Garden Club hosts monthly programs for its members, with topics ranging from food allergies to ‘Scams on Seniors’ to Candy Making Classes to Antiques. And sometimes we focus on plants! But many of us have brown thumbs so everyone is welcome. Our fundraisers help beautify Deercreek – while having fun doing it!
The Literary Circle meets monthly to discuss a current book and have lunch together.
The Quilting Group makes and donates beautiful quilts to local hospitals.
Mah Jongg groups, Bunco Ladies, Bingo Buddies and Games Girls get together to play, chat and win!
We have Bridge for Ladies or Couples. There are many levels of Tennis and Golf teams for anyone interested – men, women or children.
So, where would you choose to invest your time and energy? The Women’s Alliance and The Home and Garden Club both have many, many positions to fill to make things happen, but also welcome anyone coming just to sit in and join us. The Games Groups are good fun and good for your stress level so that you could almost consider them therapeutic! And the Sports groups are definitely the way to stay in shape and competitive, while meeting interesting people. It’s all good. Look at the Deercreek Living magazine and see if there is something else you might like to try. Then step outside your own little world and join the Deercreek way of life. C’mon, it’ll be fun!
